Every summer at the Lab we provide a course called the Summer Teachers Institute (STI) for pre-K–grade 12 educators. STI teaches educators to incorporate the language of image and sound into the Common Core curriculum. By learning about narrative structure and style, as well as participating in some of our workshops at the Lab, teachers will be able to improve their students’ reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
We want to be able to provide new media education to all students, not just the ones who come visit us at the Lab. STI is a great way for us to further that mission. Just listen to what our Director of Education, Emily Keating, has to say in the video below!
STI will run July 29-August 2, 2013, 9 am-3:30 pm for a total of 30 hours/2 credits. To register, or for more information, go here.
