Come and be transported back to the year 1601 in the Globe Theatre’s sublime production of Twelfth Night, one of Shakespeare’s best-loved comedies. With its all-male cast playing both male and female roles, period costumes, baroque music played on Elizabethan instruments, and stage lighting coming mostly from the glow of about a hundred candles, you will feel like you’re in the wings with the bard himself. And in case you have forgotten, this play contains some of his most wonderful lyrics.
Under the direction of Tim Carroll, and starring the two time Tony award-winning Mark Rylance, this hilarious tale of “deception is a source of radiant illumination for the audience, while the bewilderment of the characters onstage floods us with pure, tickling joy.”(Ben Brantley, New York Times)
So, if you love Shakespeare and missed this award winning production on Broadway, consider this a must-see on Monday, October 13 at 3:00 pm. Tickets are on sale now!
